Zuffa Zombie? Maybe I am...Maybe not...

Now, I know that I am going to be immediately classified into my good friend Bloodstain Lane's created word “Zuffa Zombie” group for what I am about to write in this article, but sometimes things just need to be done. I have sat back for quite some time and listened to quite a bit of hype over a few fighters that I truly believe are extremely overrated. Now, to the people that are trying to shove these guys down our throats day in and day out, they are not overrated, but the exact opposite. Most people say that the fighters that I am about to mention does not get any credit because they don't work for “The Man” Dana White.

Am I a Zuffa Zombie? I don't know, but I will make sure I ask my good friend from New York this week on the MMA AFFILIATES Radio show when he shares the co-host spot with me and my good friend Jason London. However, until then, I will let you decide as I speak of a few fighters that will probably have you sending me hate mail within five minutes of reading this. Now, here is my take on the UFC first and then these fighters. The UFC, is the SUPER BOWL of mixed martial arts in my opinion and 90-95% of the best fighters on earth work there. PERIOD.

Now, moving onto my actual topic here, I am going to talk about some of these fighters OUTSIDE the UFC that actually get far more credit than what they deserve. I hear all of the Zuffa haters out there saying that the UFC champions and top ranked fighters would be in so much trouble if so-n-so would come to the UFC. Well, lets really analyze some of these so-called underrated fighters. I am gonna start at the top of the list with Mr. Nick Diaz.

How many people in the past month have said that this is the man to defeat George St. Pierre and take his UFC Welterweight Championship? Lets be real here, we have heard plenty of people make this claim. The reason? Nick Diaz has actually marketed himself pretty damn well and has gained quite a decent following. Now, I admit that he has 10 wins in a row, but lets not even compare that to George St. Pierre's wins. I mean we can, but Diaz has met no where NEAR the competition of GSP over this span of time. Nick Diaz, the man that everyone thinks is the “next man” in the UFC's biggest win in this period of time was against Paul Daley, whom lost BADLY to a man that GSP beat twice in Josh Koscheck. Lets be real with this...Nick Diaz did NOT dominate Paul Daley and Daley actually clipped him a couple of times and I believe had TWO knockdowns in that first round. Yes, Nick Diaz finishes fights @ 170 (My Kenny Florian joke), but he has met no where near the same opposition. Am I the only one that realizes that Mr. Next big thing is only 6-4 against the big boys in the UFC? Of course, when I say big boys, I mean the likes of Jeremy Jackson, Robbie Lawler, Karo Parisyan (loss), Drew Fickett, Koji Oishi, Diego Sanchez (loss), Joe Riggs (loss), Sean Sherk (loss), Josh Neer, Gleison Tibau.

Are you kidding me people? I like Nick Diaz, but are we seriously taking a man that has lost to Joe Riggs and Karo Parisyan and making him all of the sudden better than George St. Pierre? Did I forget to mention that he has also lost to KJ Noons (a boxer), Kuniyoshi Hironaka, and Jeremy Jackson? George St. Pierre has lost to TWO people ever and one was just unexpected. I honestly don't even know for sure if Nick Diaz could beat Matt Serra or Matt Hughes RIGHT NOW. Why are we honestly saying that this man can beat George St. Pierre? I am not a GSP fan in any way, but lets be real with ourselves here. Nick Diaz is a man that would have never even been Strikeforce Champion if Jake Shields wouldn't have went to the UFC. Do you really think he could beat Jon Fitch? Josh Koscheck? I am not trying to hate on the guy, but we are taking a man that barely got fights on the main draw in the UFC and making him the next champion. See, with a lot of these guys, you can argue that they never had the chance in the UFC. However, with Nick Diaz, you just cannot do that. He was 6-4 in the UFC. The only real contender that he even beat was Karo Parisyan and that was a close fight in many people's eyes. Outside of the UFC, his only decent win was Paul Daley and he was seconds from getting knocked out in that one too. Am I a Zuffa Zombie because I realize that Nick Diaz has never really done anything amazing in this sport? I mean, in terms of contending with George St. Pierre.

Im just keeping it real. I love to watch Nick Diaz fight, but if you really think he will even come close to beating George St. Pierre, I beg you to bet all your money against all of mine. I will gladly take that bet and be VERY happy the Sunday after as I collect my dough. Will he ever be a World Champion at the highest level? No. NEVER.

Next on the list is Jorge Santiago. He is now getting a shot against Brian Stann, but what is all the fuss about this guy about as well? He ALSO already had a shot in the UFC and what happened? This man went 1-2 in the UFC and was knocked out twice. Over his career, you can see that this man has a jaw that cannot really take too much of a test. He can be knocked out. I give him his credit because he is a warrior and fun to watch, but he much like Diaz would be lucky to be on the main draw long term in the UFC. If Brian Stann knocks him out, then he will be 1-3 in the UFC with 3 KO's against him. Now, lets look at this so-called champion's biggest wins. Jeremy Horn or Mamed Khalidov would have to be his biggest claim to fame. Now, lets look at who has kicked that ass. We got Manny Gamburyan, Keith Wisniewski (Wasnt that a nose tackle for the Raiders?), Diego Sanchez, Jordan Radev, Joey Villasanor, Chris Leben, Alan Belcher, and of course, Mamed Khalidov. Will he ever be World Champion at the highest level? No. NEVER.

Notice that both of these fighters we have mentioned have lost to Diego Sanchez? Why do I mention that? Well, its simple...Most of these people that are big about bragging for these two guys dog Diego Sanchez day in and day out and say that the UFC just babies their Ultimate Fighters. Well, Diego Sanchez, whom most of you don't even rank in your TOP 10 anywhere has beaten both of these men. Is Diego Sanchez a main eventer? No, he is not. I love Diego Sanchez, but in reality, he will never be the UFC Champion at 170. Neither will either of these two men. That is my point that I am trying to make about these fighters here. People say that these dominant champions outside of the UFC would be just as good inside the UFC and I truly disbelieve it. Oh, I am not done...We are gonna keep it moving...

By the way, there will be NO Fedor bashing here. He truly is the greatest of all time. There also will be no Takanori Gomi bashing either...

Hector Lombard? The jury is still not out on him yet, but he had a draw with Kyle Noke. Do you think that Kyle Noke could contend with Anderson Silva? I truly enjoy watching Lombard fight, but I would love it even more if I could see him up against someone that is ranked in the top 100 in the class. He fought Gegard to a decision and lost it and other than that, I cannot honestly give his career any points yet. He NEEDS the UFC to be honest. He needs to get over there and prove that he is as good as his record and legacy seems to say he is. To me, he just has an amazing winning streak against less than stellar competition. Ill give him some credit for his last win at Bellator 44 though. That was some good stuff. Will he ever be World Champion at the highest level? No. NEVER.

Eddie Alvarez? Lost to Shinya Aoki....no shame in that. Also lost to Nick Thompson via TKO. Now, lets look at his wins...His biggest win would have to be over Roger Huerta in my book. I admit, thats pretty solid for a win, but that's about it. Joachim Hansen and Kawajiri were pretty good wins too. With this being said, I truly believe that Alvarez is READY for the next level. I actually think that he has the potential to be successful. However, we must admit that right now, he only has fought maybe three or four major fights in his career up to this point. At age 27, he has plenty of time to get in the UFC and shine. Can he ever be a World Champion at the highest level? Maybe. He is one guy other than Gilbert Melendez and Alistair Overeem that may have a legitimate shot at winning a championship in the Super Bowl of MMA.

Gilbert Melendez and Alistair Overeem? Both are beasts and I believe they will both be champions in the UFC at some point.

That basically covers a few of the so-called GREAT FIGHTERS outside of the UFC. I will write a part two of this article some time this week and will discuss fighters like Jacare and Gegard Mousasi. Am I a Zuffa Zombie for believing the facts in front of me? I do NOT think so, but if you think so, feel free to label me that. The truth is that I think people just wanna latch on to these people because they are the underdog hopes that someone outside of the big show can make the GOLIATH's look less than what they are. All of these fans of these smaller promotions seem to wanna feel like they were PART of something and thats why they blindly say that these fighters are better than their UFC counterparts. I am ALSO a huge fan of these smaller promotions, but if you expect me to say that Drew Fickett can be UFC champion because he holds a title elsewhere, your crazy. I don't give a shit how good Antonio McKee, Jamie Varner, or Jeff Curran looks outside the UFC. Its what they do INSIDE the UFC that matters when it comes to both their LEGACIES and their WALLETS. Am I right? I love Antonio McKee, but since he WAS screwed over after just one loss, he will NEVER be looked at in the same light as other dominant lightweights. He's just some guy now with a bunch of wins against lesser talent. That's the consensus and to be honest, how do you disagree with that?

Fuck it, I guess I am a Zombie then...Its sad Im labeled that when I truly do watch and love ALL MMA FIGHTERS...I just am not BLIND to reality. Ask the fighters themselves...They wanna fight for the UFC too. Why? Money and competition.

King JB w/ Shane Carwin

Interview w/ Shane Carwin
by KING JB

KING JB: First off, I would like to thank you Mr. Carwin for taking the time to
conduct this interview for the MMA Kingdom/MMA Affiliates Radio.

We are all aware that you have been placed in the main event of UFC
131 as a replacement for Brock Lesnar in a #1 contender's fight with
Junior Dos Santos. You were originally already booked for the card in
your return, did the change in opponent drastically effect your
training, or was it basically the same?

CARWIN: I have so little time in the Octagon that I try to focus on just preparing for everything. I am training all aspects of MMA and that has and will continue to be the focus. My coaches develop gameplans but we are training pure MMA vs a specific style for this fight or that fight.

KING JB: Knowing that you are one fight away from potentially another title
shot, do you get jitters in your stomach or does your previous
experience make this easier to deal with?

CARWIN: You know I just go with what comes my way, I am focused on this fight and while I fully understand the implications looking past a fighter like Junior would be a huge mistake. I remain firmly focused on Junior and the huge challenge ahead.

KING JB: Junior Dos Santos...does he pose a bigger threat to you than Brock
Lesnar did in your last fight or are you more confident in this
opponent than you were against Brock? Basically, which fighter
presents the more winnable situation in your mind?

CARWIN: I think they are equally tough but in different ways. For a guy like Brock you use your wrestling to negate his and Junior is dangerous if you keep him standing. I do not think any fight at this level is easy.

KING JB: Many fans believe that this is gonna be a fight that ends in a
knockout regardless of who wins the fight. My question is simple. Due
to your wrestling ability, would you personally prefer this fight to
hit the ground or are you confident in standing and striking with JDS?

Many people have honestly questioned your stamina after the Lesnar
fight. Would you chalk up your loss to Lesnar on cardio issues and
what steps have you done to improve your cardio since your last fight?

CARWIN: You will just need to tune in to find out. In the gym before the Lesnar fight I was going five five minute rounds without issue. Then the fight came and we saw what happend. I have made a few adjustments to address the issues I had.

KING JB: At age 36, realistically how many years or fights would you say you
have left? Do you consider this opportunity your last major chance at
the UFC Heavyweight Crown? Is this your last major run here at the
title?

CARWIN: I could do this for years. I have around 20 minutes in the cage and a lot less at the elite level. I have only been doing MMA for like 5 years. The question is how long does it make sense for me to do it. It comes down to how the family can handle the sacrifices. In my mind before I got the call for this fight I was starting at the bottom and needed to earn a shot. I still feel that way I am just blessed enough to be fighting for another shot.

KING JB: You started your career pretty late for a professional fighter. Had
you begun at age 18 or 21, how many times would we be saying that
Shane Carwin was the champion of the world in your eyes?

CARWIN: No idea, I try not to focus on what ifs

KING JB: What is your most memorable moment as a fighter?

CARWIN: Beating Frank Mir for the title

KING JB: Before you retire, do you want to avenge your loss to Brock Lesnar?

CARWIN: I would be honored to fight him again. First and foremost I would love to seem him get healthy and live a long and happy life. If he comes back I would be honored to face him.

KING JB: Would you care to elaborate on your opinion of the Rashad Evans/Greg
Jackson split? Do you see a day ever when that situation is returned
to normal without animosity from Evans?

CARWIN: I really do not follow a lot of the MMA drama. I know they have been friends for a long time and I would assume they will be friends for a long time to come. Rashad had spent his last few camps here at Grudge and he is has a team that travels with him. I think they both will be fine.

KING JB: Do you feel that you had enough time to prepare for Junior Dos Santos?

CARWIN: Is there ever enough time to prepare for a guy as talented as Junior? I think I am blessed with an opportunity I could not pass up.

KING JB: After your fighting career, what are we most likely to see Shane
Carwin doing in life? Any other careers in mind?

CARWIN: I have created the hydraulic model we use for my current job and we plan on helping other towns and cities benefit from my model.

KING JB: What was your opinion of Zuffa purchasing Strikeforce. Is this good
for MMA or bad in your eyes?

CARWIN: I think you have to have the feeder shows. Competition is good for the sport. I thinkit creates the opportunity for a new number two to arrise.

KING JB: A question from another fan that I promised to ask you. If you were to
step in the cage with Alistair Overeem, how would you see it going
down? You both are excellent strikers and theoretically, what would
your game plan be?

CARWIN: I hope to do that some day so I will keep the gameplan to myself. Overeem is one of the best fighters on the planet it would be an honor.

KING JB: I would like to thank you Shane for answering these questions. Good
luck in your upcoming fight and some day we would love to have you on
MMA AFFILIATES RADIO when you are less busy.

Daily Wrap from the Throne (5/16/11)

Daily Wrap from the Throne
by King JB
5/16/11

TOPIC #1: SPONSORSHIP and the END of KING JB's affiliation with MMA Topics.

Well, things have been going real good these days in regards to the MMA Topics.net website as well as MMA Affiliates Radio. We have received sponsorship which allows us to go for TWO hours on the radio show any time that we choose to. It is the ability to do many more things with this radio show that we need to do. We actually have TWO sponsors for the show and what we are doing. Unfortunately however, there has been a change within the relationship of KING JB and Mr. Dibiase. This problem has led to the complete and TOTAL demise of our partnership. I am 100% out of MMA Topics.net and the MMA Kingdom is being RE-BORN. I will be working on the site as I already have gained possible co-host to continue the radio show as well as the GROUP page on Facebook.

What are my opinions on this split? Well, I think I was dealing with someone that I was clearly warned about. However, someone that runs a VERY SUCCESSFUL MMA site that I consider my mentor sat me down and had a huge discussion about my conduct as an up and coming journalist, whether it ends up being MMA or not. I respect the advice given and intend on being as serious and dedicated as possible to growing the MMA Kingdom to where it needs to be. I believe that I have made the right decision by moving forward as a separate entity from Dibiase and MMA Topics. Am I gonna hate on him? Even though he BASHED me as much as his little mind could on the internet, I refuse to fire back. I only beef with people on the Internet with MORE MONEY than me or MORE PRESTIGE. Honestly, if I am gonna beef, it needs to be VALUABLE to me. PERIOD.

TOPIC #2: Matt Mitrione (4-0) vs. Tito Ortiz (16-8-1)

As we all know, Matt Mitrione and Ortiz got into it at the summit, but today it got a lot more interesting when Matt explained it. Apparently, he went up to Tito to introduce himself and Tito pushed him away. It was apparently about some shit that Matt said on Twitter or something about Tito's wife. Now, Tito should already expect to hear things about his wife when he married a porn whore. Especially, one of the biggest named porn whore's of all time. I love Tito Ortiz as a fighter, but he's just simply an idiot for getting mad at that type shit and shoving him. Well, Mitrione has said that he will cut to 205 to not only fight Tito, but he said to end his career if Ryan Bader doesn't. I still have seen no response from Tito Ortiz yet.

When it comes to the actual fight if it happened? Id have to ROOT for Tito Ortiz, but honestly, Matt might be able to pull out a win here. He is so much bigger than Tito to be honest. I am a huge Tito fan and I understand that he is trying to defend his wife's honor (despite what I said earlier). With that being his feul, he may be able to take Mitrione down and smash his face in. However, size matters in this sport more often than not. Mitrione would probably take it via size. I would love to see this fight though. What about you all out there?

TOPIC #3: Kenny Florian (13-5) Still Says He can be LW Champion

Kenny Florian has said that he can STILL be the lightweight champion despite fighting a weight class lower now. Are you kidding me? Kenny Florian has shown time after time that the Lightweight Championship is something that just isn't within his reach. Hell, not even the Strikeforce Lightweight Championship in my book right now. Kenny Florian better focus on his upcoming fight in the featherweight division. He is the one that chose to move down because he couldn't win the lightweight championship after a shit load of opportunities. I truly believe that Kenny is going to end up unsuccessful at featherweight and just because BJ Penn isn't hanging around the lightweight division anymore, it doesn't mean that its wide open for Kenny to take. He better focus on his next fight and just shut the hell up right now. He is stepping into the cage with a man that is 16-1 I believe in Diego Nunes and can easily hurt him.

I am not a Kenny Florian hater AT ALL...However, he needs to just stay focused. He will probably never be a champion in the UFC. That is just the truth and most people already know that.

TOPIC #4: Mark Coleman (16-10) wants Herschel Walker (2-0)

Mark Coleman was just talking about retirement yesterday and now he wants Herschel Walker? So, is he saying he wants Zuffa to pick him back up and pay him his huge salary in Strikeforce? Well, I am actually ALL FOR THIS FIGHT. I think it would be a GREAT test for Walker and give him a chance to beat a legend in only his third fight. I truly hope this fight happens and I would actually pay to see it. I know most people out there are Coleman haters, but not me. I would love to see this fight. Yesterday, I reported that Coleman wanted Dan Severn too. So...is he retired? I think not...just fired from Zuffa...Thats the only thing stopping him!

WAR COLEMAN and WALKER! Lets do this, just for the fun of it!

TOPIC #5: Paul Heyman

Paul Heyman doing business with the UFC? Well, I love it because I have been a Paul Heyman fan since his days in World Championship Wrestling as Paul E. Dangerously. Of course, he then created the company known as the ECW and the rest is history. He is the man credited for bringing Brock Lesnar into the world of Pro Wrestling. He has a GREAT personality and knows how to promote. If the UFC does choose to use him to help promote for UFC 131 and its for sure, I love this entire concept! I love to see MMA and Pro Wrestling mix...even for a little bit.

Its hard to not love this story if your an old school wrestling fan! WAR HEYMAN!

TOPIC #6: Anthony Pettis (13-1) vs. Gray Maynard (10-0-0-1)

Gray Maynard said Pettis only fought srubs in the WEC. Pettis responded by taking the high road and saying that them scrubs from the WEC that he is respecting is currently beating UFC fighters. He said that Maynard disrespected all of them more than him. I personally agree with Anthony Pettis in this particular situation despite not being the biggest Pettis supporter. The truth is that Pettis fought some great talent and the WEC fighters ARE great fighters. Ben Henderson is winning. Donald Cerrone is winning. You have no choice but to recognize the overall success that the WEC has had in its short time merged with the UFC.

Gray Maynard was right however when he said that the only reason that Pettis is know is because of that kick. However, I will say that Pettis is definitely a great fighter at 155. I do NOT put him into my top ten, but I still think he is good. Personally, I think Clay Guida ( ) is going to beat him and lock his OWN title shot in. I think that Pettis will lose this fight in every way possible. Clay Guida deserves this win and I truly believe that he will get it done. Anthony Pettis seems a little TOO confident considering the fact that he has a VERY VERY tough Clay Guida very soon.

Anthony Pettis vs. Gray Maynard? Will it happen? Im sure it is, but neither one of them two will be champions any time soon.

TOPIC #7: Anthony Johnson Twitter War

Ok, this morning started off extremely rough and I will go through what happened with me and Rumble (9-3) on Twitter. It wasn't the prettiest thing, but we have since them SQUASHED it and moved on. We will be having Anthony Johnson on MMA Affiliates Radio this coming Sunday Night. I am not a Rumble Johnson hater and I was wrong for my actions. I should have understood the fact that air lines suck sometimes. I was wrong. Good to have him on the show still though...It should be some good shit.

TOPIC #8: Zuffa Zombies

Quit calling everyone Zuffa Zombies just because we don't hate Dana White! Thats fucking ridiculous. It doesn't even deserve more play than these two sentences.

KING JB

DONT FORGET MMA AFFILIATES RADIO THIS SUNDAY @ 9:00pm-11:00pm EST.

Daily Wrap from the Throne (5/15/11)

Daily Wrap from the Throne
by King JB
5/15/11

TOPIC #1: Antonio Noguiera and UFC Rio

Well, the legendary Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira (32-6-1) has let us all know that he is coming back and he has picked UFC 134: Rio to make that comeback. There are many different rumors about who will fight, but close sources have named Brendan Schaub (8-1) as his next opponent which personally makes my day considering the fact that I think Schaub needs a rude awakening inside the UFC. I do not have a lot against Schaub, but I think he was a little disrespectful of Mirko Cro Cop leading into the fight with that legend. Something tells me that he might be the exact same with this situation. Personally, I love this fight and can't wait to see it.

Noguiera made it clear today that he wants to be the co-main event of that very card. I am not sure if that will end up being the case, but I see no problem with two Brazilians being the main event and co-main event of this card. Noguiera in my opinion is the #2 Heavyweight of all time in the sport of MMA behind the great Fedor Emelianenko. I personally think he will win this fight and prove that he is not done here in the MMA and STILL should remain a top ten heavyweight.

TOPIC #2: Jeff Monson vs. Daniel Cormier announced

I like the fact that Monson (42-11) is getting a shot as a replacement for Shane Del Rosario. He has been away from the big leagues for quite some time and has now worked his way back through solid fighting and great self promotion. Daniel Cormier (7-0) is someone that I am very fond of, especially because I play him in NBA 2k11 quite frequently on the Xbox Live. He is a very solid dude and GREAT up and coming fighter. I really wanted to see Cormier and Del Rosario, but this is still a huge test for Mr. Cormier. Personally, I think Cormier is going to take this one. I hope that Strikeforce does NOT cut Monson afterwards because Id like to see him stick around for a few fights.

When it comes to the actual fight, Cormier is just so dominant with his wrestling and I do not think Monson will be able to handle it. This will give Cormier a win over a true veteran in this sport with tons of respect in this business. There are plenty of people that have Monson over Cormier overall in the Heavyweight division. I will not disagree with that, but this is Cormier's chance to prove himself against a higher ranked Heavyweight.

TOPIC #3: Nick Diaz says everyone is Scared of him

Are you kidding me? Nick Diaz (25-7) recently said that everyone is scared of him. Ive said it before and I will say it again despite liking Diaz...Diaz has smoked himself retarded if he truly thinks that everyone is scared of him. Why would anyone be scared of Nick Diaz inside of the MMA circle. Lets get something straight, Nick Diaz is a great fighter without a shadow of a doubt. However, he is highly delusional 99% of the time. Id like to think who he thinks is so scared “homie”. If anything, MORE people wanna fight him now because he is the champion of the world. If he is referring to George St. Pierre (22-2), I am sure that GSP is not scared of Diaz. If GSP doesn't wanna fight Diaz, it has to be because he knows Nick Diaz is not a million pay per view buy type of draw. We all know that's true. Nick Diaz has never proven to be a huge draw, nor will he ever UNLESS he beats George St. Pierre. No, I am not a George St. Pierre fan, but lets be real here...He may be scared of Anderson Silva, but he is NOT scared of Nick Diaz or any other Welterweight in the world.

Diaz over the past week have said quite a few odd things which leads me to think seriously that he is trolling the entire MMA world. Seriously, he is just trolling the shit out of everyone in my book. Do I have a problem with it? Hell no, its funnier than hell each and every time that Nick Diaz fights or speaks, period. Just because I find it entertaining and funny does not mean that I think he is accurate in what he is saying. Diaz just comes out with some off the wall shit each time he opens his mouth. I would seriously like to know exactly whom he thinks is scared of him? Tyron Woodley (8-0) is around there in Strikeforce and is a HUGE threat to his title. He wants Jeff Lacy though. Maybe its Diaz that doesn't want Woodley. Maybe its Diaz thats scared homie.

TOPIC #4: Fedor 3/1 Favorite over Dan Henderson

People are actually complaining about this? Why? First off, if you are a Dan Henderson (27-8) fan and truly think he is gonna win, this is your chance to make A LOT of money! Get off ya ass and quit being a pussy. Place your fucking bet and shut up! Quit complaining all the damn time losers. Second off, Fedor (31-3) is the favorite because he is FEDOR EMELIANENKO. All of you jerkoffs saying that Fedor is done and gone in the sport of MMA is an idiot. Fedor only got his ass whipped once. Fabricio Werdum (14-4-1) snuck in a VERY sneaky submission and got the win. He didn't beat Fedor's ass or anything. Antonio Silva (16-2) ? Yea, he whipped Fedor's ass. Now, lets be serious here. This is going to be a great fight and all this means is that not a lot of people will be putting money on Fedor with these odds. I personally DO GAMBLE on MMA and if you DO NOT, what the fuck are you complaining for? Quit being bitches and just sit back and enjoy the show. This fight is TWO legends going at it and its a fan friendly fight. Lets quit disrespecting EITHER of these two and just love the fight. They do NOT deserve the hatred from these couch fans.

TOPIC #5: Frank Trigg says that Retirement Announcement's are Not Needed

Frank Trigg recently said that he believes that retirement announcement's are not needed. He says that fighters should just go away quietly. Well, I have to say that I truly believe that he is only saying this because he is not a “huge name”. The truth is that someone like Frank Trigg probably doesn't need much of a retirement announcement. I am not speaking of his fighting ability, but he gained a lot of haters over the years due to his own personality. Due to the fact that he isn't very popular, an announcement would probably do him no good. However, someone like Fedor MUST announce his retirement in my opinion. Fighting is a career and many people document someone's career from the beginning all the way to the end. I think that retirement announcements etch the career in stone and allow people to take a career and think about it from beginning date till the end date. The major fighters with huge fan bases owe it to their fans to give us a “good bye” properly. The truth is that Frank Trigg has a fan base of about 10 to 15 people, so that is why he is saying this. Also, Trigg probably wants the option to fight a fight here and there for INCOME purposes. Someone like George St. Pierre is financially taken care of so he will never have to fight when he is too old to fight. He doesn't have to keep that option over, therefore passing up on a retirement speech. People today that are successful can ANNOUNCE their retirement for the record. I personally like to see that good-bye speech. I feel that they owe it to us if we are buying their clothing and buying pay per views to see our favorite fighters.

I just think a proper good bye is called showing respect to the fans.

However, has Frank Trigg ever shown that he even knows what respect really is?

Bellator #44 Preview and UFC #130 preview

TOPIC #1: Jon Jones...is he ducking Rashad?

Well, I gotta say this...Jon Jones has went ON THE RECORD saying that he would fake an injury to not fight Rashad. They fight gets signed and then all the sudden a hand injury, that he has had his entire career, is so bad that he needs surgery. Then Rashad gets signed for another fight. Then Jones says “fuck it” basically and decides to not get his surgery. What's funny is that he is trying to get his next fight signed but he does NOT want Rashad, the #1 contender. He said that Rashad needs to get through Phil Davis first. What kind of shit is that? Its real simple with me, I think that Jon Jones is not scared of Rashad, but I truly think that he is messing with his head. I think this has been a serious plot just to piss Rashad Evans off even further. Jon Jones has been doing douche bag stuff since the beginning of this entire situation with Rashad Evans in my eyes. Is Jon Jones the best in the world at 205lbs? Yes, I think so, but his attitude and management sucks. Jon Jones should be begging to fight Rashad right now just based on their past issues. This fight NEEDS to happen. This fight HAS to happen. Rashad is ready and willing...Who isn't? Jon Jones...Mr. Quack Quack....Yes, he is ducking Rashad Evans. I am not clearly sure on the reasons, but he does NOT want Rashad to get this title shot.

TOPIC #2: Bellator 44

This was a pretty solid event for Bellator as they had TWO main event quality fights for their company. Hector Lombard's knockout of Falaniko Vitale was great for his own exposure. Hector Lombard has won A LOT of fights in a row, and he looks ready for the big time. My knock on him is that he has basically fought no-bodies his entire career. When I say no-bodies, I mean no bodies with any real rank in the MMA rankings world wide. There isn't one fighter on his hit list that ANYONE has in their top ten anywhere on the internet. Seriously. His biggest win was tonight or his win over Mr. Joe Doerkson. I do not necessarily know where he belongs in the Middleweight Rankings, but he REALLY needs to fight someone with some ability. This man went to a draw with Kyle Noke.

Also on the show, my prediction was right as Michael Chandler out classed the Pitbull to become the winner of the tournament and #1 contender for Eddie Alvarez's 155lb championship. I personally think that Michael Chandler can pull it off. He looks really solid right now and seems to have every aspect of the game going well for him. I gotta give a lot of credit to this kid and I believe that he is the next big thing at 155 outside of the UFC. I picked the upset tonight and I pick it again when he steps inside the cage with Eddie Alvarez.

TOPIC #3 : Bloodstain Lane Issues with MTG

The beef is over...period. I am done with this Twitter war because it is starting to get repetitive and ridiculous. I am done with the videos and so is Bloodstain. It does seem that Dibiase and him still have issues and that's their business. However, with me...I am done with it. He said CLEARLY that he respected me. We obviously are NOT gonna fight and since that's the case, it is pointless to continue the bullshit. As far as Im concerned, the past debate never happened.

TOPIC #4: Cabbage 's life choices

I just wanted to take a quick second to say that Cabbage is just a fucking idiot. How the hell do you keep getting caught with all this theft shit? Why don't you just get ya big ass back in the gym and continue fighting. Why the hell you out there doing all this stealing when you are pretty good as a professional athlete? Cabbage needs to wake up before he spends the rest of his life in jail over some stupid ass stealing.. WAKE UP CABBAGE!

TOPIC #5: Jon Olav Einemo

Yesterday I said that the biggest thing with the injury to Brock Lesnar to me is that it left Mr. Einemo without a fight. Well, minutes after we posted my report, the fight was signed as a replacement between Einemo and Dave Herman. This is going to be a great fight. I am more excited about this one than Einemo and Carwin. Dave Herman is TRULY making his way up the ladder and now he has a huge challenge here. This is gonna be a fun fight and possibly fight of the night. Make sure you keep an eye on this fight and remember that King JB said it. Im glad to see that Jon got a fight and will still be on the card. They also added Joey Beltran up against Aaron Rosa. I like this fight too, but I think Beltran will find a way to take it. Also, I think Einemo will beat Dave Herman. But that is just my thoughts right now. Once I do a little research, my pick may change before my official report on the show.

TOPIC #6: The Janitor

Vladimir Matyushenko will be stepping into the cage against Alexander Gustafsson. Right off the jump, I like this fight for Vlady. At the age of 40, he is really still working hard out there. I think Vlady will take this fight too. I like the fact that the old timer is still relevant in the game. I know there are a lot of haters out there that will bash me on a computer about that comment. The truth is though that they sit at home at their computer and Vlady is out here kicking ass. WAR JANITOR!

TOPIC #7: JZ is Back in the Cage.
A lightweight bout between Brazilian stand-out, Gesias “JZ” Cavalcante and top rated prospect, Justin Wilcox is reportedly in the works for the June 18th Strikeforce card in Dallas, Texas. With that being said, I have to admit that this strikeforce card is gonna be stacked. I cannot wait for this event. I am a sucker for tournaments and that just drew my attention long enough for me to get excited about the entire event. How can you NOT be excited about this event. With Zuffa's money behind them, I am assuming that this next show will be pretty legendary. Plus, we get to see Overeem and Josh Barnett both fight that night...Does it get any better?

Yea, probably...lol

But..we wont know until tomorrow...Im out.

Make sure you check out the MMA AFFILIATES RADIO tomorrow (Sunday) night from 11:30pm-12:30am. We have the old episodes archived, but LIVE tomorrow night will be Anthony Johnson, whom will respond to John Howard's comments on our show. Also there will be Rick Slaton and Ryan Ford. GREAT SHOW filled with action...Check it out. Www.blogtalkradio.com/mmaaffiliates

Thats all I got...Like it? Cool....Hate it? Go off and Die somewhere.

TOPIC #1: Injuries Changing Main Events to UFC 130 and UFC 131...

Well, as we all know by now, UFC 130 has been changed due to an injury to Frankie Edgar and Gray Maynard both, which completely eliminated that main event. Well, yesterday we heard that Brock Lesnar will be missing the main event of UFC 131 and replaced with Shane Carwin against Junior Dos Santos. Obviously, this entire situation is something that just makes our blood boil, but at the same time, we need these fighters to stay safe. I am not upset at all to be honest with these recent issues, because I would much rather see healthy fighters in the cage. I love the sport, but I do not wish for these fighters to get seriously hurt. Honestly, they do not get paid enough to go out there and risk career ending injuries just to keep us happy at home. I wish all three of them the best when it comes to recovery.

With that being said, in my opinion the biggest loss of that situation is the fact that UFC newcomer, Jon Olav Einemo will no longer be on the card as it looks. I was actually looking forward to seeing him on the card and now all we can really do is just hope that the UFC gives him a replacement fight. With all of these fighters on the roster now, you would think that the UFC would have no problem in finding a replacement for this particular fight. The heavyweight division is more stacked than many people give it credit for being. So, where does this leave us? Junior Dos Santos vs. Shane Carwin to determine the #1 contender for the UFC Heavyweight Championship. Personally, I think this fight is going to be a fight with definite fight of the night potential. I think both men are going to come out BANGING, but the truth is that Carwin's lack of cardio is going to be his downfall in my opinion. I believe that it will be a VERY competitive first round, but in the second, Junior Dos Santos will do much like Brock Lesnar did up against Carwin. I believe he will either pull off a submission and give us a glimpse of the man's ground ability or just plain knock him out. Personally, I am putting my money on the knock out in this fight. I think we are destined to see Cain Velasquez vs. Junior Dos Santos now. I have to admit, I am excited as hell about that possibility.

TOPIC #2: Insurance for the Fighters and UFC Summit

This entire situation is monumental for the sport of mixed martial arts and its potential growth as Zuffa begins to monopolize the industry. The people that are against MMA seem to be most against the way the fighters are treated and the injuries that can result from the sport. Well, in my opinion, Zuffa just fixed a lot of this by giving the fighters a break financially with their hospital issues and injuries. To me, this was long over due and I am happy to hear it. I know that Matt Mitrione recently said on MMAfighting.com that he recently took a Pat Barry kick to the kidneys and it cost him $4,000 bucks at the hospital. Do you realize how many times a year this probably happens to most fighters? The truth is that they also must pay their team around them in terms of coaches and these fighters just simply weren't making a whole lot to begin with. I have to give Zuffa credit for taking this worry away from the fighters and making sure that they get good treatment. I bet there were a lot of fighters that were seriously fighting injured because they could not AFFORD to go to the hospital. Think about it. How many fighters are making $4,000 per fight? There are a lot of them in the undercard of the UFC. So, imagine if all $4,000 of that had to go on the doctor resulting from training for that $4,000 paycheck? Obviously logic says that this is a huge day for these MMA fighters.

Now, I also think that this was a huge event for MMA as a whole in terms of getting sanctioned and regulated everywhere. They are becoming more and more of a professional sport with each decision like this. The fact that they are willing to protect their fighters should mean a lot to the states still thinking that it's human cockfighting. Other sports have insurance for their fighters and now so does the king of the MMA industry, Zuffa. Big ups to them for this decision and a few others during the UFC summit. These fighters are also going to earn a few bonuses for tweeting and networking with us fans, reporters, journalist. I think that makes sure that these fighters will continue to be easy access for all of us and that is a good way to promote the sport. I personally like the fact that they are willing to do interviews for smaller media outlets and radio shows such as ours here at MMA Topics.net with MMA AFFILIATES RADIO. Also at the Summit, Strikeforce fighters are now able to use the same sponsors that the rest of Zuffa uses. That obviously is going to lead to more money for them as well as the fact that the Zuffa team is considering offering fight bonuses on Strikeforce cards now. There was a lot of Good to come out from the UFC summit.

There was some bad however, and here it is...Most of Strikeforce's front office is now gone. Business as Usual? No, it is not. Out of the 12 staff members under Scott Coker, there are only two left and even Coker himself has been demoted to Vice President or General Manager of Strikeforce. The UFC has basically rebuilt Strikeforce from the inside already just in the time that they have had it. I am not against it however considering the fact that the UFC can make their product better. The truth is that Strikeforce will be alive until their Showtime contract is over and then it will exist no more. If there is anyone out there that truly thinks Strikeforce will be around past that contract expiring, you gotta be as high as Nick Diaz wanting to box Jeff Lacy. The truth is that Pride was swallowed up. The WEC was swallowed up. Strikeforce will eventually be SWALLOWED up...Then Bellator is next. We all know what is going to happen, so it is pointless to even consider anything other than that. Zuffa owns the mixed martial arts world and there is nothing that anyone else can do about it. People can knock Zuffa all day long and call their fan's Zuffa Zombies, but lets be real people. Do we wanna see the UFC up there with the NFL, NBA, NHL, and MLB or not? I personally do wanna see the sport grow to that size and this is the best way for it to happen. I love fights and fighters outside the UFC, but the truth is that 90-95% of this sport I love is owned by the UFC.

TOPIC #3 – Jon Jones and Rashad Evans

I am not sure if you guys are aware yet, but Jon Jones and Rashad Evans almost got into a bar fight during the Summit. Basically Jones was hanging with Tito Ortiz and Rashad was sitting with George St. Pierre. Words and even shoves were exchanged before GSP told them to take it outside and broke it up. Rashad has recently been quoted as saying that he respects Rampage a lot more than Jon Jones because he believes Jones is a snake. He also recently tweeted that it was Jones that backed out of the fight at the bar. He said that at least Phil Davis won't back out of a fight. With all of this being said, I think the build up for this fight is going to end up much like Rashad and Rampage. Despite me being a HUGE Rampage Jackson fan, I have to say that I now like Rashad Evans a little bit due to this feud. I think that Rashad has become a marketing genius and he will make sure that this fight sells quite a few tickets and buys. The real question is whether he will get past Phil Davis. I believe that he will and prove that he is still pretty great at 18-1. I know the entire MMA world is just already picking Jon Jones to steam roll over Rashad Evans, but I also think them same people forget how good Rashad really is. He is easily one of the top 3-4 fighters at 205 and there is nothing that can be said to dispute that. His only loss came against a VERY GOOD Lyota Machida. Personally, I am enjoying the war on twitter and apparently night clubs too between Jones and Rashad. How about we let them be the next coaches on the Ultimate Fighter to get them ratings back up? I would dig that for real...You?

TOPIC #4- Eddie Alvarez seems to be making a push for the UFC

Recently Eddie Alvarez was quoted as saying that his next contract that he signs will be one that will make him millions. Well, lets be honest here. There is only one company out there that can actually provide them type of numbers that Eddie wants. Next, he made it clear that he would have no problem fighting good friend and partner, Frankie Edgar. Now, with these two statements, I would say that he definitely is making his sales pitch to be brought into the UFC. Both of them recent statements have ZUFFA and the UFC written all over it which means that we very well might be seeing that Eddie Alvarez and Gilbert Melendez fight after all. I say that the UFC should bring Eddie in and make it a #1 contenders fight with Gilbert Melendez with the Strikeforce gold on the line as well. I think this fight would set up a PERFECT fight for later down the line with whomever the UFC champ will be, presumably Frankie Edgar. Considering the fact that Alvarez a few months ago said that he didn't need the UFC, I think its safe to say that he has changed his mind. What do you all think? Should he jump ship and who would you like to see him fight?

TOPIC #5 - UFC refuses to pay for Extra Police at UFC 131

Not sure how many of you give a shit about this story, but it seems that the Vancouver Police Department requested for the UFC to pay for extra police officers around the Rodgers Arena on the night of UFC 131. The UFC has let them know that they will NOT be funding any extra police around the arena for the event. Vancouver made this request because they feel that MMA fans are rowdy. Are you fucking kidding me? Them hockey fans up there are far more rowdy than MMA fans and that is simply the truth. How many riots has Canada seen due to hockey? How many have they seen due to MMA? Hell, how many riots has America seen due to MMA compared to other sports? Get out of here Vancouver and either hold the event or don't. Quit trying to get more money out of the UFC. They don't actually need your police there anyways. I am quite sure that they can fight there way out of any messed up issues...lol...Anyways, big ups to the UFC for not paying any more money due to the extortion of these sorry ass police out here. They are more crooked than we are. Sorry Steven Seagal, but its true!

TOPIC #6 – Mark Coleman looks to be done for Good

He didn't say it today, but he spoke of Randy Couture's retirement and he seemed like he is basically ready to hang them up. He did however say that a challenge that Dan Severn made to him recently has him intrigued. I wanted to say a few things about this topic to end up today's report from me. First off, Mark Coleman will go down as a MMA legend, but the truth is that his roid rages that were caught on tape will drastically hurt his legacy in my eyes. We all knew that Coleman was roided out and he himself never changed our minds. I still think about Pete Williams knocking him out with that high kick and its just one of the greatest sights in MMA history. Mark Coleman, the godfather of ground and pound will eternally be remembered mostly for his early UFC fights and style. I think he belongs in the hall of fame, so I will never take that away from him, but he just made himself look foolish later on in his career in my book. I loved seeing him against Couture in a throwback fight, but reading that he admits not training hard for that fight makes me sick and feeling like I was cheated. Mark Coleman had issues with being a professional and it was proven time and time again. I am not the biggest Mark Coleman fan based on his personality captured on camera and on paper, but his fighting career was pretty solid and he was a definite pioneer in the sport. All good and bad aside, I commend Mark Coleman for his great career. However, he better watch out who he considers fighting, because Dan Severn is still doing big things in my book. 100 MMA Pro Wins is just amazing and I do not believe that Mark Coleman really wants any part of that. Dan Severn was always and still is amazing at what he does. I would love to see a Mark Coleman vs. Dan Severn fight, but the truth is that Severn would destroy him. Severn still trains around the clock even at his age. Mark Coleman has admitted that his age prevents him from going 100%. Lets be real here...Dan Severn has 123 pro fights and Mark Coleman has 26 pro fights and a average 16-10 record. He was a different man at UFC 12 when he beat Dan Severn and he would not get that lucky today. WAR DAN SEVERN! Actually, all in all, both of these men are legends. So...WAR BOTH!
