The GREAT Fights that we have now/We are Winning....PART 2/3.

Ok, I am back and hopefully you got to read part one of this. If not, its easy to find. In part one of this, we went over the fights in April and May. In this part, we are going into June and beyond. So, without further adu, I think its time we hit the beautiful month of June.

I am going to start with the event in Dallas that Strikeforce is putting on on June 18th. I don't think that everyone realizes how huge of an event this really is. First off, we got THE REEM stepping into the cage for his rematch with Fabricio Werdum. The last time that these two men fought, Werdum got the submission win. This was all the way back in 2006 at a PRIDE event. Overeem got caught in a kimura. Now, lets be real here. Alistair Overeem is NOT the same REEM that he was back in 2006. The truth is that Overeem is huge as hell now and even more skilled than he was before. His striking is out of this world and he is so strong, grappling or wrestling with him seems like an impossible task.

Overeem has won six fights in a row following his no-contest with Cro Cop. Before that incident, he had won three in a row. So, taking away the no-contest, THE REEM has won nine straight fights and is the HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION of the World for Strikeforce. He is simply the best that they have to offer right now and thats the truth. Overeem has FINISHED his opposition in all NINE of them fights. With that being said, its obvious that Reem knows how to get the job done. Now, Werdum has won three fights in a row following his loss to Junior Dos Santos. The thing about Werdum is that he always wins the big fights for the most part. Hell, he is the first guy in the world to actually BEAT Fedor Emelianenko. Granted, he didn't beat him up like Antonio Silva did, but he still beat him regardless. Werdum has beaten the likes of Fedor, Antonio Silva, Mike Kyle, Gabriel Gonzaga twice, Brandon Vera, Alistair Overeem, and Einemo. There is no question that Werdum has the ability to win this fight based on the fact that he just knows how to win big fights.

However, with that being said, THE REEM is a beast right now and he is just too dominate to lose to Werdum. The REEM looks FAR MORE dominant than Brock Lesnar did during his run. Granted, Lesnar was beating better competition, but Lesnar showed some weakness. Overeem shows no weakness, because there is NO weakness. I think he is going to knock out Fabricio Werdum extremely ugly. I may be wrong, but in my opinion, he is going to win this fight, then beat Antonio Silva, and then fight Josh Barnett in the finals. I will not speak on whom I think will win this fight right now. I will wait for that one.

Next, we got JOSH BARNETT and BRETT ROGERS. Wow, this is going to be good. Josh Barnett is a legend in this business. I know a lot of you disagree with me, but trust me, its true. This man is 29-5 and has been dominate over his MMA career. Granted, we ain't seen him in a while, but Josh Barnett is Josh Barnett. Brett Rogers has a punchers chance in this fight, but that's just about it. I think Barnett is gonna pull this one out by submission. I think Brett Rogers is going to get stuck on the ground thanks to Barnett's wrestling and then get tapped out. I just CAN'T see this going any other way unless Rogers lands a lucky punch. Barnett has won six fights in a row. Brett Rogers has lost two in a row in STRIKEFORCE, but he did get a decision win at W-1 MMA 6 against Rueben Villareal, whom was 19-18-3 going into the fight.

Also in this event, King Mo will be back in action. I feel sorry for all the big King Mo fans, because he is fighting a man that CAN pull off the upset in Ovince St. Pruex. Ovince is 10-4 and has won seven fights in a row. He has went to the judges however in his last three fights. King Mo is coming off his first loss of his career against Rafael Cavalcante. The real question here is will King Mo be able to come back from his loss like a professional and be the real deal or was he a fake to begin with. Ovince has the ability to pull off the upset, but something tells me that King Mo will get back on track by decision on this one. Regardless, this is a VERY meaningful fight for the Light Heavyweight division and this win can set him up for a fight with Dan Henderson after the Fedor fight.

Another HUGE FIGHT on this card is Daniel Cormier up against Shane Del Rosario. This fight in the heavyweight division is as solid as it gets. These are two of the hottest prospects in the weight class. I am excited as can be about this. I have been playing NBA2k11 with Cormier and I know how serious he is about his training. The winner of this fight is obviously the hottest prospect in the division. Cormier has never been defeated in seven fights. He has finished six of these opponents. Del Rosario is undefeated in eleven fights. He has finished ALL ELEVEN of these opponents. Cormier trains at a better camp (AKA) and I think that's going to be the difference. I can't even imagine how hard him and Cain Velasquez probably go with the wrestling. Personally, I think Cormier is going to pull off the win here. I think this fight will actually go to the judges and Cormier's takedowns should end up being the decision. I think Del Rosario will be getting his first loss in this fight. However, I think this fight will be the most exciting fight on the card.

That leads us into the Ultimate Fighter finale. Obviously, we do not know who wins, but something tells me that my boy Shamar Bailey from right here in NAP TOWN is going to take this. Yes, Im being bias, but the truth is that he truly looks solid. I got a lot of faith in him. So, obviously regardless of who is there, the finale is important and big. I cant wait for that one.

Clay Guida against Anthony Pettis is gonna be great. The truth is that Pettis is overrated in my book. Granted, he is good, but there are people saying that he could beat Frankie Edgar. Get the **** outta here with that mess. Now, to the fight, this is huge because it SHOULD decide the next #1 contender for the lightweight championship. I think Clay Guida is going to tear that ass up and show why he finally deserves a title shot. Yes, Pettis is quick. However, Guida is quick too and a tough guy inside and out. He is the most underrated lightweight in the history of the division in my book. I think he is going to prove himself here and pick up a decision win based on his takedowns and energy. Guida has won three fights in a row and has been looking great. His win over Gomi showed that he can beat some of the top guys in the world. He might actually submit Pettis to be honest. Pettis has won four fights in a row himself and has looked good doing it. I just do NOT think that he has what it takes to deal with the energy of Clay Guida. Mark my words, we will see FRANKIE EDGAR vs. CLAY GUIDA sometime in 2011 for the UFC Lightweight Championship. That is unless they bring over Gilbert Melendez for the super fight.

We also have UFC 131 in June, which is gonna be a HUGE show. So, we are gonna move on to Brock Lesnar against Junior Dos Santos. The REAL QUESTION going into this fight is whether JDS has any kind of takedown defense. If Junior doesn't knock him out immediately, I think that Brock Lesnar is going to take him down for the TKO win. Yes, JDS has power, but that doesn't mean he has strength. It takes a lot of STRENGTH to get Brock Lesnar off of you. I love Junior Dos Santos, but I do not think Brock Lesnar is going to be knocked out two fights in a row. That would be HORRIBLE for his career and that's the truth. I predict that if he loses, he will go back to the WWE. Yes, I am serious.

I think that K-Flo will be successful in his Featherweight debut. I think that Demian Maia will submit Mark Munoz in their fight.

Also in June, we have UFC LIVE on VERSUS 4 and a huge fight between Nate Marquardt and Anthony Johnson. I like Rumble, but the truth is that he may be paying too much attention to John Howard to be productive right now. I think Nate Marquardt is going to get the KO win in this fight. He is just too good and Johnson isn't ready for a top guy. Yes, he beat Dan Hardy, but I feel like I can beat Dan Hardy at this point. He just isn't getting any better as time goes.

I think Pat Barry will beat Cheick Kongo and John Howard will get the upset win over Martin Kampmann to be honest. Well, there you have it...That is the month of JUNE, which is amazing when it comes to fights. UFC is holding THREE events in the month and Strikeforce is holding possibly their best event EVER.

Now we are off to July, where July 30th, we will see two legends go at it. We will see Dan Henderson stepping into the cage with Fedor Emelianenko.

From what I understand, the earlier fight between King Mo and Ovince St. Preux will not be happening as King Mo will be fighting Roger Gracie and Ovince St. Preux will be fighting Rafael Cavalcante.

I will go OVER these fights and the rest of the fights in JULY in my next part of this...I will also add UFC RIO and August in the next blog as well....

Im out,
KING JB

The GREAT Fights that we have now/We are Winning....PART 1/2.

The Great Fights that we have now...

Ok, right now it is currently April 16th, 2011 and we have some pretty good fights coming up over the next few months and I wanted to go over a few of them with you...

First off, I am gonna start with George St. Pierre stepping into the cage to defend his UFC Welterweight Champion against a man that has not lost a fight since December of 2004. Over that time, Mr. Jake Shields has defeated Yushin Okami, Carlos Condit, Mike Pyle, Nick Thompson, Paul Daley, Robbie Lawler, Jason Miller, Dan Henderson, and Martin Kampmann. This is a winning streak of 15 fights. George St. Pierre of course has dominated the Welterweight division in the UFC and won 8 fights in a row himself as he has ran through Josh Koscheck twice, Matt Hughes, Matt Serra, Jon Fitch, BJ Penn, Dan Hardy, and Thiago Alves. Both fighters are just unstoppable right now and Im excited for this fight.

I think both fighters have an issue with finishing fighters at this current time. Unfortunately for Shields, if this fight goes to decision, I think George will take it due to his wrestling ability. I think St. Pierre will be on top for most of this fight and Jake's only real chance is to tap him out from the bottom, which is definitely possible. Don't get me wrong, even though both fighters like to see the judges, St. Pierre has still finished the likes of BJ Penn, Matt Serra, Matt Hughes twice, Sean Sherk, and Jay Hieron. Shields has finished the likes of Paul Daley, Robbie Lawler, Nick Thompson, Mike Pyle, and Jeremy Jackson. Both of these men have the ABILITY to finish, but it just doesn't seem likely.

Shields has seen the judges in sixteen out of his 31 fights, winning 13 of them. Of course, he does have TEN submissions in his career. He has only been finished once, and it was a TKO loss in his third ever fight to Marty Armendarez in 2000. That was obviously eleven years ago. St. Pierre has seen the judges in eight of his 23 fights and has never lost a decision. Yea, you heard me right, he has NEVER lost a decision. He has seen the judges in four of his last five fights. His last loss was in 2007 to Matt Serra in the upset of the century via TKO.

In closing, this fight is gonna be good, but its more than likely gonna be on the ground for twenty five minutes with GSP pulling out another decision win since he never loses them.

On the very same card, we have Jose Aldo defending his title, but since I think he is going to DESTROY Mark Hominick, Im not even going to consider that a major fight. However, UFC Hall of Famer, Randy Couture stepping into the cage with Lyota Machida is very, very interesting in my book. I can NOT WAIT to see this fight. I think this fight has FUN written all over it. My reason is simple...I think Lyota is too fast to get caught up in the dirty boxing against the cage routine. I think he learned with Rampage Jackson that that stuff just don't work. Look, Randy Couture is a hell of a fighter, but people need to remember that this is Lyota Machida and Couture's last fight was against a fat as hell pro-boxer. Seriously, the Machida era was LAST YEAR and everyone was saying how unbeatable he was.

Yes, Machida can be beat. However, I do not believe that Randy Couture has the ability to do it in any aspect of this fight. Yes, he is stronger more than likely and his wrestling is top notch. However, Machida's quickness will make him the first person to make Couture seriously look like an old man. Yes, Randy has won three in a row, but it was against Vera, Coleman, and Toney. Couture is definitely solid and I admit that he knows how to finish a foe, but Machida is just so slippery and quick, it seems impossible to me. Randy has proven me wrong before though and I can admit that. Yes, Machida is on a two fight losing streak, but lets be real here. It was against two of the best light heavyweights to ever walk the planet and you cannot deny that at all. I think Machida's hands are gonna be quick and he has something to prove in this fight. I think Machida is going to TKO Couture in the second round. Hell, it may even be the first. If it goes to a decision though, I am going to have to go with Couture. He knows how to earn them points and win that way...Guaranteed.

In Bellator, Cole Conrad is going to DESTROY Paul Buentello...seriously.

Moving onto the month of May, we have some good shit taking place. We got Edgar and Maynard III. We have Rampage and Hamill. We have Mir and Nelson. We have Hieron and Hawn. We have Lombard and Vitale. Another great one in Freire and Chandler.

Now, with that being said, I think Edgar and Maynard will give us another classic. It is extremely hard to pick this because that first round from fight two keeps rattling off in my head. Can Gray Maynard finish off Frankie Edgar this time? I just don't know. Frankie Edgar goes to a lot of decisions and also has issues with finishing. Nine of his fifteen fights have went to the judges and his only finishes come against the likes of Matt Veach, Mark Bocek, and a few other people that you more than likely just do not know. Maynard on the other hand, has been to the judges 8 times in 12 fights. He has only finished Joe Veras and Josh Powell. I know you are saying “who the hell are they” right now just like I did.

Chances are that this fight is going right back to the judges. Who will win it this time? I think it is truly a toss up, but I guess I am going to go with.......Frankie Edgar. Why? I have no f***ing clue to be real with you. I guess I am just going with the champ because I do not think Maynard will do enough to actually BEAT the champ.

I love Rampage Jackson, but this is a horrible fight for him. Matt Hamill isn't even considered a top ten fighter, but he is an outstanding wrestling. We all know by now that Rampage just can't stop wrestlers from taking him down. I really really hope that Rampage Jackson can nail him with some good standup, but something tells me that we are going to get 15 minutes of Hamill laying on Rampage. I hate to do this, but I honestly think that we are going to see a HUGE UPSET here with Matt Hamill getting the decision win. I think Rampage will be so pissed off that he may retire after this fight. I am not joking either. I know that it is going to piss me off, so I can only imagine what it is going to do to him. Rampage better get to swinging and knocking him out in the first round.

Frank Mir will lose to Roy Nelson via TKO and here is why. I think Roy Nelson has watched the Brock Lesnar footage. We all know that Mir has EXTREME problems with big men laying on top of him. Honestly, Nelson's chin is TOO GOOD as we saw in the fight with Dos Santos for Mir to knock him out. Mir's only chance is the submission game and Mr. Nelson has EXCELLENT ground game when it comes to jiu-jitsu. I think we will see Roy lay on top of him with that marvelous belly of his and get the TKO win. Seriously, Roy Nelson has the greatest stomach in MMA and he makes me confident as I begin my amateur MMA career in June. I know a lot of people are going to pick Mir and bash my pick here, but oh well, shit happens. Frank Mir is going to lose this fight and may be seriously put out of the UFC. Dana White was NOT happy with Mir's performance in Indianapolis (NAP TOWN!) against Mirko Cro Cop.

Jay Hieron and Rick Hawn...This should be good, but I got Hieron pulling this one out by decision to win the tournament. To be honest, I think the UFC is going to be truly interested in bringing Mr. Hieron back after this fight. He may never even get a shot at a title in Bellator, because he may not even be there that long. I guess it all depends on the contract and whether or not he even has a choice. I have no clue whether his contract will prevent this or not. If YOU know, please let me know. You can reach me at 1-800-get-off-my-nuts...Yea, thats too long, but if you were gonna call me seriously anyways, you deserve it. Seriously, just let me know through facebook or something.

I will write another portion of this blog and speak of the fights in June, July, and August. We have some HUGE fights scheduled and this should be a VERY fun summer in the sport of MMA. Thank you for reading and I will write Part TWO later on today...

Should they Retire? Its not our choice OR business...

Should they retire? Not our choice OR business...

Imagine if someone told you that just because you couldn't make it to the top spot in your job, you should just pack it in and give it up. Imagine if you really loved your job and someone else was telling you that you should leave it against your choice. How pissed would you be? How much would you even give a damn what these outsiders thought? Unfortunately in this sport that I love known as MMA, this happens all of the time.

How many times do you hear people say that Tito Ortiz or Mirko Cro Cop should retire? I have recently even heard it about Randy Couture, Antonio Nogueira, and even Fedor Emelianenko. First off, let me say this...Who the hell are we to say when these people should retire? Second of all, I think it is a damn shame that when people aren't considered threats to championships anymore, people think they should just retire.

Let me guess, you think Dan Severn should retire too? Why? He is happily making a living and working towards his 100th mixed martial arts professional win. Dan Severn has plenty of money and still chooses to fight because that is what he DOES. That's who he is in his life and we should not be able to seriously tell these people to quit because he's not a contender for the Heavyweight Championship in a few people's eyes. Personally, I would love to see him back in the UFC.

Now, obviously there is small exceptions when we are looking out for someone's life. Andrei Arlovski is getting KO'ed in every fight violently and I think that he seriously needs to see if his brain is ok. If he is ok, then sure, he should continue. However, someone that consistently has his lights shut off violently may wanna consider something else. However, the truth of it is, he can still make money in other organizations. People like Andrei and Cro Cop do not need to fight the top talents to have a job.

I guess what I am trying to say is that this choice should belong to them and them only. If Dana White doesn't want to employ them anymore, thats fine. There is other companies all around the world that these fighters can make a living fighting for. However, its the ARM CHAIR critics that are telling these people to retire. Just because Chuck Liddell or Tito Ortiz may not be able to beat the top fighters in the UFC's 205lb division does not mean that they cannot go make serious money as the KING OF THE CAGE or any other companies champion or top draw.

People seem to think that if these fighters can't be the GREATEST FIGHTERS on the planet, they should just hang it up. I do NOT get that train of thought. I love the fact that Dan Severn, Travis Fulton, and Ken Shamrock are still out there making a living. I would love to see Mirko Cro Cop vs. Tim Sylvia headline a smaller companies show to draw some fans in. I think Phil Baroni is garbage, but I love watching him fight. I love knowing that he is still out there. The same goes for Frank Trigg and many other fighters.

These fighters can retire when they want. I personally want them to stick around forever. If they have to retire or choose to, cool...But it should be no one else's decision but their own. If Tito Ortiz can go to Bellator and make a decent paycheck, then why not?

Of course I look forward to hearing responses, but I just don't get why everyone feels the way they do. Chuck Liddell and Cro Cop still wanna fight. Being forced to retire is just a shame...Legends and non-legends as well deserve the right to go out as they choose. Bottom line is that you would be shitty if people were rooting for you to resign from your job. With that being the case, quit wishing the worst for these fighters...and...not fighting anymore is the WORST for many of them. Its their life.

Everyone Seems Unbeatable in MMA

Everyone Seems “Unbeatable” in MMA

If you ask the average MMA fan out there today, Jon Jones is so unbeatable, he would beat Anderson Silva easily if Silva jumped up to 205lbs for the possible super fight. Is it just me, or have we given this title to hundreds of people or sports teams only to be proven wrong 100% of the time? Think about it, everywhere in sports in general, it is said that people or teams are unbeatable. Has it ever actually occurred that way? Hell no it hasn't and it never will, especially in MMA, and Im going to tell you why.

Today, Jon Jones is unbeatable because he easily beat Shogun Rua for the UFC Light Heavyweight Championship. Now, Ill be the first one to admit that I picked against him and he kicked enough ass to blow my mind. I am truly impressed by this young talent and I think he will be great for a very, very long time. However, is he unbeatable? Well, the answer is no because he is indeed human and everyone with that title before him has been defeated. Ok, lets start off with the very beginning of the UFC.

Do you remember when Royce Gracie was unbeatable? What happened? He was defeated. Do you remember when Mark Coleman and his new ground and pound style was unbeatable? What happened? He was defeated. Hell, I still remember that Pete Williams kick like it was yesterday, and I love seeing it still. Let's keep it moving through the unbeatables in this sport. Sakuraba was unbeatable until he was defeated. Fedor Emelianenko was unbeatable and actually won THIRTY fights in a row. Now people are talking about him like his name was Mark Hunt these days.

Matt Hughes, BJ Penn, Wanderlei Silva, Brock Lesnar, George St. Pierre, and Anderson Silva have also shared this title at some point. Oh yea, what about Lyota Machida? Just two years ago, people were saying that he might be the best pound for pound fighter in the world. People were saying that if Anderson Silva would ever fight his teammate, he would be destroyed by Machida's quickness. Machida loses to Rua and now he is a bum that is facing being cut by the UFC. There are actually people picking an old man over him at UFC 129. Speaking of that old man, people once said that Randy Couture was unbeatable as well as Tito Ortiz. What about Frank Shamrock? Cung Le? I have heard so many people saying this exact thing in the MMA world, it is crazy.

Now, some people STILL claim that George St. Pierre and Anderson Silva is unbeatable...unless they fight Jon Jones and then they would be destroyed. Now, with all of that said, is anyone truly unbeatable? Hell no they are not. Now, is it possible that GSP, Anderson Silva, and Jon Jones goes the rest of their careers without being beaten? I doubt it and most of the people that truly follow MMA feel the same was I do. Besides, George St. Pierre is going to be the only man on the list that seriously TRIES to do this by padding his opposition. He won't jump up in weight, so the truth is that he is just going to be beating up on 170 lb men for the rest of his career. He very well MIGHT go undefeated for the rest of his career, but its only because he is hell bent on playing it safe to “safe guard” his “legacy”. It seems to me that he cares more about that than being a real competitor, but that's just my opinion.

Anderson Silva or Jon Jones? Chances are that these two men will fight each other some day, so, one of them will be taking a loss more than likely at the least. Truthfully, I think Anderson Silva would destroy Jon Jones, but even he, I don't think is unbeatable. There is no such thing because people all over the world are training harder and smarter as the sport evolves. There will never be someone that just can't be beat.

So, sorry to all of you “Jon Jones ban wagon jumpers”...The truth is that Mr. Jones will be beaten some day and then you will be calling someone else unbeatable. The Jones era will eventually end up with the Machida era, which is a THING of the past. Will it happen as quick as the Machida era? Who really knows, it is possible as he is set to defend his title against a former champion and top ten fighter in the division in Rashad Evans. Most people give Rashad Evans no chance at all, but a lot of those same people gave Shogun no chance in the first fight against Machida and we saw how all of that played out.

You know what? We might see Yushin Okami beat Anderson Silva again at UFC Rio...We might see James Shields beat George St. Pierre at UFC 129...We might see Rashad Evans beat Johnny Jones and we might see Brock Lesnar end the “unbeatable” mystique of Junior Dos Santos and Cain Velasquez in the near future and then see Overeem end his. You never really know these days, but one thing is for certain...No one man is UNBEATABLE, but MMA fans will always throw this label around like its pu**y from a chick in Vegas. No one is unbeatable...no one.

Bellator 41 (4/16/11)

4-16-11 - Bellator 41

Catchweight Fight (137): Joe Warren (6-1) vs. Marcos Galvao (9-3-1)
MY PICK – Joe Warren via decision
WINNER - Joe Warren via decision

Pre-Fight Notes:  Warren has won four fights in a row, and seems to be looking really good at the moment. Three of those four have went to the judges however as he has proven to love the long fights. He did knockout his last opponent however, just for the record. He is the current featherweight champion at age 34 however. Galvao is the Ring of Combat Featherweight Champion, so this is definitely a super fight of sorts.  Galvao has won three in a row and he also has a habit of going to the judges. His jaw has proven that he can be knocked out however. In this one, I think we are gonna see a dominant performance by Joe Warren, but a decision win.

Post-Fight Notes: Galvao starts round one off with a takedown on Warren. Galvao just starts punching away and it looked like he was about to get a quick win, but Warren gets out. Galvao scores a knee to the gut and then lands another takedown after Warren tried to take him down. They get back up and Warren tries to land some knees, but is tripped down for a third time. At the end of the round Warren landed some punches and a takedown. This first round is for Galvao easily. Warren starts off round two with some great shots. Both men are scoring big shots in the clinch, but it seems Galvao is scoring more. Galvao got another takedown on Warren. They stood again and Galvao landed some great solid knees. Warren gets another takedown but eats some great shots as the round ends. Galvao took round two and looks to be winning this fight. After taking some shots Warren started off round three with a takedown. He almost got caught in a submission, but they stand. Warren gets another takedown, but Galvao landed some solid elbows from the bottom. Galvao is fighting one hell of a fight. Warren took some more shots after standing and then Warren dropped Galvao against the cage and closed with some amazing punches to end the fight. Ill give Warren round three, but he still loses the fight in my book 29-28. The judges score this fight 30-27, 29-28, 29-28 for Joe Warren? WHAT THE HELL IS THAT? I cannot believe what I just saw! Judge Chuck Wolf scored the fight 30-27! I cannot believe this mess. FIRE CHUCK WOLF is the stance I am taking now! Joe Warren is extremely overrated, because he just lost this fight. I don't care what anyone says, he just lost this fight.

Bantamweight Fight: Zach Makovsky (12-2) vs. Chad Robichaux (11-0)
MY PICK - Zach Makovsky via decision
WINNER - Zach Makovsky via TKO (3-2:02)

Pre-Fight Notes:  Makovsky is obviously the bantamweight champion for Bellator. He has looked real good in the early portion of his career as he has won six straight fights. He has went to decisions in his last three fights, but has the ability to tap anyone out. Chad has never been defeated and also has a great submission game as he has submitted 10 people in his career. I think he will try his ass off to get the submission in this fight, but will fail as it reaches the judges.

Post-Fight Notes: Makovsky started the fight off with a takedown. He landed some ground and pound and then gets another takedown after they stood up. After standing up again, Makovsky lands a solid left hand and then gets another takedown. Makovsky basically dominated round one like a champ should. Makovsky started off round two with a great shot and then another takedown. Both men landed alot of shots on the bottom. With a minute left, Makovski lands another takedown and lands some more solid ground and pound. In the third round, Makovski gets a takedown and attempts a few submissions. Makovski begins to land punches and give up the submissions. He just blasts him far too much and the fight has to be stopped.

Bellator Featherweight Tournament Seminfinals: Patricio Freire (15-1) vs. Wilson Reis (12-2)
MY PICK – Patricio Freire via TKO
WINNER - Patricio Freire via KO (3-3:29)

Pre-Fight Notes:  We got a great fight here without a doubt. Freire lost in the finals of the last tournament to Joe Warren, so we already know that he is focused on winning this tournament this year. I think he is ready to take this tournament all the way as he got a TKO in his last fight. Reis fought his ass off in the last tournament until he lost to who? Patricio Freire by decision and thats exactly what I believe is about to happen again. However, this time, Freire is going to get the finish. I expect this one to be the fight of the night.

Post-Fight Notes:  They start the fight going back and forth until Freire lands a solid kick to the face. Freire ended up getting the first takedown of the night. After standing, Freire lands some very solid blows as does Reis as the round ends in the first, which went to Freire in my book. Freire got a takedown after Reis tried to take him down. They stand up and Freire lands a knee to his gut right before the bell. Freire took round two as well and has a commanding lead going into the third round. Reis cracks him with a head kick to start off round three. Freire then lands some great combos on Reis and just looks like his striking is on point tonight. Freire is just landing right after right and finally drops Reis. The punches were vicious and this was a knockout win for Freire. Wow, what a performance in this fight! He looked great!

Bellator Featherweight Tournament Semifinals: Kenny Foster (9-2) vs. Daniel Straus (15-3)
MY PICK - Daniel Straus via decision
WINNER - Daniel Straus via submission (3-3:48)

Pre-Fight Notes:  Regardless of who wins this fight, I think they will lose in the finals to Mr. Freire, who seems destined for his rematch with Warren. With that being said, this should still be a great fight. Foster has won two in a row and has a pretty solid submission game. Straus however has won eleven fights in a row and sees the judges a lot. This will probably be a back and forth technical war that sees the judges. I gotta go with Straus.

Post-Fight Notes:  Straus started the fight off with an aggressive rush and toss to the ground. They stand and throw some very aggressive strikes before Straus is able to toss Foster again. Straus then lands a flying knee followed up with a takedown. This was a very dominant round for Straus as he takes round one. Foster starts round two with an uppercut to the gut of Straus that seems to hurt him. He then followed it up with a knee. Straus then landed a superman punch and a takedown. With ten seconds left in the round, Straus landed a great left hook and takedown to win the round in my book. Straus was up two rounds to none going into the third round. With three minutes left in the fight, Straus gets the takedown. Straus landed some great ground and pound to the ribs and then tries a few different submission holds. Despite both men being very sweaty and slippery, Straus was able to wrench on a guillotine and get the submission. This was a dominant performance for Straus.

Heavyweight Fight: Rudy Aguilar (0-1) vs. Carlos Flores (4-0)
MY PICK - Carlos Flores via submission
WINNER -  Carlos Flores via TKO (1-1:19)

Pre-Fight Notes:  Flores has seemed pretty solid so far in his career. It was rumored that he was to fight Tony Johnson, and I think he would have lost that fight. However, this fight against the basic rookie should be much easier. I think Flores will show us his submission ability and get the win here.

Post-Fight Notes: Flores landed some huge knees and rocked Aguilar early. Flores then landed a variety of strikes and drops Aguilar. Hammer Fist follow and the fight is over. Wow, that was easy!

Bantamweight Fight: Anthony Birchak (4-0) vs. Tyler Bialecki (7-3)

MY PICK  -Anthony Birchak via decision
WINNER - Anthony Birchak via submission (1-4:06)

Pre-Fight Notes: Birchak has submitted each and everyone of his four opponents. Tyler has a great ground game too and I think both men will put on a grappling exhibition here. However, I think that Birchak will stay undefeated as he pulls it out........by decision.

Post-Fight Notes: This was exactly what I thought it would be...A back and forth grappling show. Birchak gets in a Brabo Choke. Bialecki tried to fight it, but had no choice but to tap out. This tied my prediction record to 1-1 for the night.

Featherweight Fight: Michael Parker (6-3) vs. Nick Piedmont (4-1)
MY PICK - Michael Parker via decision
WINNER - Nick Piedmont via split decision

Pre-Fight Notes: Parker has won two fights in a row and seems to have a pretty solid ground game. Piedmont has a habit of seeing the judges and this one should be exactly the same way. I gotta go with Parker via decision here. Should be a pretty boring fight to be honest.

Post-Fight Notes: They started the fight by just throwing some amazing strikes until Parker drops Nick Piedmont with a great left hook. They stood back up and Parker landed some very strong strikes to finish off round #1 and I believe Parker got round one in this one. Round two started off with Parker landing some great shots as Piedmont kept trying to take him down. Parker gassed out and Piedmont landed some solid punches. Due to gassing out and taking some solid shots, I gave round two to Piedmont. This was a very close second round. Parker was still very tired in the third round, which is could easily cost him this fight. Parker kept catching Piedmonts kicks throughout this entire fight and he did in the third again and dropped him with a left hand. They end up standing again and Parker is bleeding from his nose. They two fighters just start landing punches as the round comes to an end. Parker seemed to have gotten the best and thats why I give him round three and the fight. The officials scores were 29-28 Piedmont twice and 30-27 for Parker...What the hell is wrong with these judges? They just gave the fight to Piedmont via split decision. All three of the judges had stupid ass scores. This was just bullshit. However, the fight was great and probably going to be fight of the night. My prediction record just started off 0-1.

Middleweight Fight: Brendan Tierney (6-2) vs. Dano Moore (5-4)
MY PICK - NONE
WINNER - Brendan Tierney via submission (1-0:49)

Post Fight Notes: This fight didn't take long at all. In the beginning, they circled and then Moore dropped Tierney with a left hook. Tierney recovered and then took Moore down. Tierney locks in an armbar and gets the submission. Wow, that shit was quick! Great jiu-jitsu by Mr. Tierney in this fight.

Overall Card Comments: I think this fight has some quality main card fights, but once again, the undercard looks like cooked crap. I hope I am wrong...

POST SHOW Comments: This show was weak in my book. The undercard fights seemed more exciting, but that's just my opinion...Joe Warren is officially overrated.
